Jack Fields is an avid fly fisher and fly tier located in the mountains of central Pennsylvania. His passion for fishing began over 40 years ago in the warm waters of Maryland where he was born and raised. He first discovered fly-fishing and fly-tying sometime in his mid-twenties and was immediately hooked. Jack relocated to northern Delaware in the mid-1990's. He became involved with a group called White Clay Fly-Fishers and was introduced to wild trout fishing.
Jack was thrilled by the challenge of matching the appropriate tie to this highly selective fish and the beautiful scenery that marks their habitat. He went on to become president of White Clay Fly-Fishers and established regular, weekly tying nights. In 2004, Jack had the opportunity to move to State College, Pennsylvania, within minutes of several class A wild trout streams. This afforded him the opportunity to pursue his passion and further hone his fly-fishing and tying skills.
Jack loves sharing what he's learned and talking with those who share his interest in fly-fishing and fly-tying. He's done presentations for the Penn State Fly-Fishing club and at regional shows, is a pro-tier for Semperfli and an active participant in several online fishing forums. In response to requests for his flies, Jack launched his own website, www.lv2nymph.com, to showcase some of his flies in 2016. You can always reach out to him on his "lv2nymph" Instagram page or track him down on the stream if you happen to be in central Pennsylvania.
