Muskies Inc., Chapter 50 is a non-profit organization that focuses on the biology, conservation, and angling strategies for Muskellunge and their hybrids, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as well as parts of New Jersey. The club in general, is not fly fishing specific. Its primary allegiance is to the fish.
This presentation will focus on capturing these fish with flies as well as conventional gear. Fly fishing for “Muskies” is rather new. The members in our club have been able to impart knowledge from seasoned conventional tackle anglers in our organization to increase catch success rates with the fly.
While catching Muskies is the goal, our mission is the advancement of education and conservation, through strict catch and release practices, to ensure that generations are able to experience “the fish of 10,000 casts”.
We use the vast majority of our proceeds to stock advanced fingerlings, in conjunction with the biologists of our respective State Fish Commissions. In addition to our efforts with education and fish stocking, we also invest significant time with cleanup efforts at several of our “home waters.”
